Memorial Day 2023

Thank you to the Verde Valley Senior Squadron 205, City of Sedona Parks & Recreation, Sedona Police Department & Police Cadets, Sedona Fire District, Mountain High Flowers and members of the Sedona Area Veteran & Community Outreach (SAVCO) for their support in making this Memorial Day Ceremony a powerful one.

SAVCO is thankful to so many people that adjusted their busy schedules and worked together; Colonel Al Cornell, US Army Ret & SAVCO member for leading the program, Tom and Shondra Jepperson for graciously donating their music talent, Mark Cary for a truly inspirational speech, Bugler Capt. Dean Cathcart, for a moving rendition of “To the Colors”  and “Taps”. Lt Col Sam Skaggs, USAF Ret, on short notice stepped up to gift the Air Force Flag, Chaplain LtCol George Ault, US Army Ret of SAVCO for leading us in prayer and special guest Sam Cary for the moving rendition of the National Anthem, SAVCO’s flag detail led by Gordie Garvey, Evan Holz, Al Coxe, Ben Lopez, Cadet Manny Sanchez & Vic La Sala bringing up the rear performed admirably……and then there is the rest of SAVCO whose members pitched in to usher and bring importance to this most powerful and meaningful ceremony, Don, Jane, Leonard & Karen, Frank, Mike and more….thanks to all.
