SAVCO’s Successful Golf Event!

SAVCO hosted another fun-filled fundraising golf tournament at the beautiful Oak Creek Country Club on September 23, 2023. With over 100 charity minder golfers, 80+ hole sponsors and silent auction items from over 80 donors, this was a very successful golf event.

Mulligan purchases and 50/50 raffle ticket sales were brisk, and players got to test their skills by attempting to pitch a ball to a pin 40 yards away. The winner won $410 with a shot that ended up 8” form the pin. The putting contest on hole #12 was a big hit but no one was able to sink the putt this year! Prizes were also awarded for men’s and ladies straightest drives and closest to the pin shots on the par 3’s.

The lofty goal of raising $18,000 was met thanks to the generosity of the wonderful men and women who participated in this year’s event. All funds gained from the event will help enable SAVCO to continue to support the greater Sedona community in many ways. These include putting smiles on kids’ faces at Christmastime through the Toys for Tots program, helping local veterans who’ve fallen on tough times, conducting the annual Memorial Day service at the veterans park in West Sedona, donating to other non-profit organizations in the area, displaying flags in Uptown and on 89A during six annual patriotic holidays and helping Red Rock High School graduates achieve their dreams of a higher education by offering scholarships.

Mother Nature treated us to a few light sprinkles but it was nowhere near enough to dampen spirits of the participants.

Second Place: Kevin Doran, Statler Ho, Tyronne Thomas and Nick Paraskevas

Last Place: Shawn & Hayley Healey and John& Susana Graham
